How deep do you think it needs to be?

Anyone close by you have a well? This would give you a rough idea of the possible depth needed for your well. The depth needed will dictate the cost. In Bacong you need a permit, in Dumaguete I would think you would need one also, but I am not sure.

In Bacong, does that only pertain to the city limits only? Rural? What I wonder is, what if I already drilled it and didnt know of the permit requirements, fine, fill it in? hmm. Anyway, Mine will be about 80 feet deep, couple neighbors in the area has that depth. I give up on trying to find someone to drill it. Had a few people trying to locate a driller thats reasonable, not the 500 peso a foot ones either. So am planning to drill it myself. I had a welding shop start making the bits now and will hire a couple local guys to do the walking in circles pushing the manual rig

My home in Dumaguete now , has a well . I know nothing about it . Don't even know if it's working . It was there when I bought the place . I just want to have a well on my other property that I am going to build our new house on . I just have no idea of the costs and or who to talk to and for that matter who to drill it for us . Anyway , thanks for any info ..... Carl

There are dig your own well videos on YouTube, but I've been told hitting rock can put a damper on home made efforts.

    Good luck!

Yeah can be a head ache, A neighbor had a manual rig drill 270 feet down here in valencia. Yep they did hit rock. I already have the bits for rocks getting made now, Hope wont need them, but am getting ready in advance before starting. Bit heads for rock is much different in design and materials. Am hoping to drill 3 wells on our place at Bacong.
