Yes Varicella-Zoster first then later diagnosed as Herpes Zoster, is exactly what I had . I was doing a construction project not knowing several people in the area had it. When I went to a Doc he was so positive, because I'm a foreigner it had to be something sexually transmitted. I insisted it wasn't and agreed to a blood test for any possible std. He insisted I was wrong and I insisted I was right. When the test came back and I was negative for everything, he got angry and said he didn't have any idea what it was and that it wasn't his specialty. Then he told me to go home and find a specialist on Monday, I asked for a recommendation, he said he wasn't allowed and since I wasn't riddled with pain I should just go home.

That's why I didn't get the meds in time.
