PhilHealth is now free to senior citizens. For those the already have it you should go to an office to collect your Lifetime Member MDR(Members Data Record) It does pay out well although you have to pay out initially. If you require hospital admittance stick out for the PhilHealth rooms.

Me and my girlfriend subscribed in Rob last year. No problem, just bring your icard and passport. Paid in full april till untill december (western union next door) and in January paid full for one year. Its something like 2600php for 2 for one year and i think it's a must have. Since we are not married yet her pappa can be on her subscription if we can find his birth certificate.

It will cover like 50% on most hospital bills when admitted in Silliman Medical, so good for emergencies.

I've used Philhealth twice. The deduction was taken off the final bill before any other insurance was applied and I believe that is the procedure. They do not pay a percentage they have negotiated set amounts they pay for specific procedures. Both times it was in the neighborhood of 11-12% of the total but, obviously, that depends on the procedure, type of room you have, etc. Both times the doctor got 40% and the rest was applied against the total bill. If you are a Filipino citizen classified as indigent there should be no charge at any public hospital.

No Andrew.... you must learn the culture here.... "Inlays" are something you do in a short time no-tell motel. Outlays are when you get caught walking out of of the no-tell motel and find all you possessions "out laid" in your front yard of your house with the neighborhood dogs pissing on them.

Am single, signed up at the main Daro office, took my gf to translate and help with the forms. A bit of a hassle, but it went more smoothly when I realized I could get quick service in the senior citizens line. You’ll need your passport and at least one picture. Advice: get there early in the morning before they get too crowded, and be patient. At the cost I can’t see any reason not to have it.
