I have one of those lte modems as well. I didn't comment on the sim card in them because, while I specifically remember putting the sim card from one in a phone, I can't remember what happened when I did it. The OP did mention having a SIM card with a "promo code" in that modem so I figured it must be a prepaid plan designed for mobile.
