    yep, thanks all......but i took the camera back to aus when we went bout 4 months ago....took it to dick smiths where i bought it, they sent it to canon..
    and would you believe they actually replaced the camera with an updated model......
    way to go canon.......needless to say the brother doesnt get to borrow it :smile::smile::smile:

    I had this same problem with my camera. I lived in Cebu at the time. they also charged P2500 with no guarantee. All it needed was a good cleaning but has to be taken apart for that. I didn't know how to disassemble so I paid. that has been 2 years ago and no more problems. Depends on how much it is worth to you. A new one will cost more is the way I looked at it.

    I just tried this place last week Jack. I had my wife to deal with them though because I always seem to get charged more no matter what kind of transaction I make. Thanks for the info. Good service and reasonable price.

    might not be your problem but i had a lens retraction problem and i went to the camera shop across from cangs that jack mentioned, they wanted p2500 just to look at it, no guarantee they could fix it.. (gulp)

    i searched ''lens won't retract casio ex-h10x'' (or something like that) on the i'net and found a lot of videos on youtube and i ''fixed'' it by sliding a piece of thin paper between the lens elements to dislodge some debris.

    the i'net can be pretty cool sometimes, eh...
