If you can find a Balikbayan shipper that will do a container Door to Door that will save you a lot of grief.
I send a couple of boxes normal delivery for me to pick up in Cebu. The broker agent on this end tried to skin me alive. They dreamed up a pile of BS charges that equaled have the value of my stuff.
When they told me I would have to pay them if I wanted my things back, the situation got ugly.
The local thieves were assigned "the contract" by the original shipper in Canada and once they had my things......
Best to avoid having to use a local broker.
