    I remember working Armed Forces Police here in Asia. If you were not in the Marines you were given the night off. Thought that was strange as it was the Marine Corps birthday and only Marines had the duty, so of course, I asked why? I was told that only a fellow Marine would understand another Marine in Dress Blues taking a leak in the middle of the street.

    All of the other Service birthday's, everyone worked.

    platoon 3096 Parris Island 1986. Big deployments are going to Arctic Circle in 1989/1990 and then follwed by Desert Shield/Desert Storm/Reactionary Force 1990/1991

    In regard to Platoon number and year, as there are so many other Command Forces out there other than just Marine.. I was 3 Platoon 1979..... will never forget bootcamp and all the efforts it took equaled only to all the darn fun it was.

    Plt 2043 MCRD 1969 and yes a proud Hollywood Marine who when some went to the Moon while I went to the Nam :smile:

    On November 10, 1775, the Second Continental Congress meeting in Philadelphia passed a resolution stating that "two Battalions of Marines be raised" for service as landing forces with the fleet. This resolution established the Continental Marines and marked the birth date of the United States Marine Corps
