After almost giving up on ever finding any here i was overjoyed to find frozen sprouts in the city mall SM food market BUT that joy soon turned to disappointment.
When opening the bag i could see they had a brown tinge, after cooking i cut one open and the brown was right through and they did not taste right.
The story gets worse because i bought 2 bags and both the same.
    The search goes on.

Similarly, I bought three bottles of US cabernet sauvignon (bottom shelf in the US) here on sale half price.
Too good to be true. I didn't check the year on the wine (2014). Turns out the wine was bad. Cheaper US red wine only ages well for a few years, certainly not 14. Waste of money.
Age is important with wine and women.

The problem with buying frozen goods here is that the majority of suppliers turn off their freezers overnight and veg is particularly susceptible to rotting after a couple of times. I always dig to the bottom (or back) of the freezer as these have more chance of still being in reasonable condition.

A quick search shows them to be similar to other brassicas that need cooler weather to have a better flavor and grow properly. I'm sure they could be grown up in the mountains where cabbage is grown. I doubt putting some seeds in the ground would do well, even with shade cloth at the lower elevations. I may pick up seeds and try them in my aquaponics set-up to see if they will grow...curious, maybe a misting system as well.
