This is the original unedited version of my first post, which was edited because I realised ,no big deal, we have just got a protective father on board and being a father myself is completely understandable

Apologies , I suppose it was ridiculous to think that anyone would find it interesting that monkeys from the Philippines were identified with strains of the ebola virus . Realistically it is barely even relevant to the thread ,my mistake . I just thought it was interesting because I did not know that the ebola virus had ever been found outside of africa .I wonder how many incurable diseases have originated in Africa apart from aids and ebola in the last 40 or so years , there is barely a comparison between the two I suppose ,other than incurable , Africa , same era , in hindsight my original post was just riddled with flaws and should never had made it to print.:D

It was not until 1989, and the third outbreak of Ebola, that experienced researches identified strains of the virus in infected monkeys imported from the Philippines. In 1994, a female ethologist performed a necropsy on a dead chimpanzee and accidentally infected herself.

I don't see anywhere in that sentence where it says the word philipinnes and chimpanzee together , the words are in the same paragraph , but not the same sentence , but I suppose if I was looking to pick the sh*t out of everything I could possibly make that mistake as well , I think the author of the article in the link I attached was referring or relating to 2 different events in regards to the family of primates.:D (even the dates in the two separate sentences are 5 years apart)

I have actually often thought about getting one myself and someday may do that .
Good luck to anyone who has a pet monkey, I think they are pretty cool,
I was only trying to share a little bit of knowledge and just because someone has
a monkey it doesn't mean that they or the monkey has aids or ebola , or are going to get it for that matter.

    post script:
probably a poorly worded comment "anyone thinking of getting a cute monkey"........etc
(I was still drunk from Ed's 'Baltoed' home brew) but really wasn't trying to scaremonger
My original post was really stabbing at the origin of Ebola , with a poorly scripted comment at
the end. Peace brother. BTW thanks for the relevant information in the last post

Because it can not be transvered without bodily contact with body fluids that have to enter into ones system, it's not the flu, that spreads like crazy, airborn it can infect many from one source, not Ebola, it usualy infects the people that live together with the sick...

From the link: "Charles threw up black vomit, and crashed in the Nariobi hospital where he passed this virus to Dr. Musoke. Musoke had tried to save Monet, but Monet threw up in his face and infected him. Charles died in the hospital. The location of his grave was forgotten. Dr. Musoke survived Marburg and still works today as a physician in the Nariobi hostipal. Dr. Silverstein, the doctor that treated Musoke had sent some blood tests to U.S and now they Marburg virus is also called the Musoke Marburg virus. 25% of people with Marburg die, even with hospital treatment."

I have not heard what strain is causing the deaths in the current outbreak...

I find it interesting that the Ebola virus is so hard to spread, but yet there are doctors and nurses, that should know the most about precautions of spreading the virus that are being infected. Maybe I may be immune myself because I know so little.

Yes, reality is without remorse and bites us in the mind that it hurt, but that's life...
