Angelito Jose, a retired U.S. Air Force personnel, was arrested on April 1st for illegal drugs, Jose said the charges were bogus. The foreign national later admitted to officials that he gave $2,000 to Inspector Michael Rey Bernardo, Joseph Garcia, Jonathan Labao, and Rafael Tagle to make the charges and risk of being imprisoned go away. The man accompanied Jose to a bank in Clark Freeport to withdraw the money a few days after his arrest. Jose’s sisters also gave the police officers another 50,000 pesos. An investigation into the matter showed that two other lawmen were involved in the extortion attempt – they included Dionisio Roque Jr. and Gerry Fabia. All six men were relieved of their duty “BUT” were reassigned to Nueva Ecija to continue their extortion games there. As always, an Epic Fail by the boyz in charge.
It would probably be a good idea for the thieving bastards to get it out of their system before next month. I think the new prez may take great pleasure in dealing with corrupt assholes.
The headline: "6 Angeles City Police Officers Fired for Extortion of U.S. Serviceman" is miss leading. They were not fired just were "reassigned to Nueva Ecija to continue their extortion games there" according to the article. Nothing really changes here, until may next month.
Hmmmmmmmm but will he? What he says and what he does may be 2 totally different things. This is a situation that just may show a crack in his promises to the people IMVHO
It might be worth bringing it to the presidents attention as he could kill two birds with one stone, fight corruption and improve the country's image in the eyes of foreigners, who are the "tourists" who spend a lot of money. Image needs some serious improving after the bullet in the bag extortion.
