Looking for a 2018-2019 compact/sub-compact car in the sub-600k price range. Any ideas on where to look? FB groups, car dealerships, private sellers, etc. I have been skimming the FB marketplace but haven't had any luck yet. For anyone looking to sell: A clean and up-to-date title and being sold in the province is an absolute must (no "open" deeds of sale). If a legitimate lawyer won't notarize a deed of sale I won't touch it. None of that encumbered/assumed loan nonsense. Will only pay in full through wire transfer or credit card payment.
We purchased form BJ Car Trading (unfortunate name, but none of that on offer). On the left just north of the airport towards Sibulan. Seems to specialise in compact/sub-compact. Had a number in stock when we purchased from there. The vehicle we bought was as described and has been very reliable (Kia Picanto). The dealer arranged registration and insurance for us on a small deposit left with him as we were off to Manila for a few days.
Thanks. Checked there this morning. Unfortunately they don't have what I'm looking for. Also checked at Tim's and didn't see much there. I guess I'll keep looking on Facebook and hope something with a decent price and clean papers comes up.
National highway going north, left-hand side, just past the turn-off, school on the corner, to the right going to Cangmating. Cant miss it. Easy ride.
I've started to consider buying new from a dealership. I'm seeing some downsides to this as when I checked Suzuki yesterday I saw a significant markup from the MSRP (50k+). They claim MSRP on the website is the Manila price and the markup is the provincial price. Since they offered a discount for cash purchases I find this hard to believe. Should I refuse any offer above MSRP or is this actually some silly norm in the Philippines?
A bit confused about these directions. Is this in Dumaguete? Sibulan? Past the turn-off to where? Cangmating? I think I missed it yesterday if it is near all the other dealerships.
Highway north to Sibulan. Past the airport, continue on and go past the right turn to Cangmating which has a school on the corner and big trees on the right hand side. Bman is a little further on on the well before Sibulan.
