well, for my part the subject of assessing and improving dumaguete info has at least the potential to help us all. after several years of living in dumaguete i joined here with the expectation of developing some comaraderie with like minded fellow expats. what i found was a large proportion of comments that are too destructive in attitude and comment. some appear to be insulting just for its own sake. many people are serious and helpful and have offered information i find helpful but i rarely offer my own opinions here anymore. a forum by definition is a place to offer opinion and ideas and discuss them it would be nice if that were more true here than it is.

 

Surely there is a difference in criticize and disagree. I personally find it difficult to pass up a comment which I believe to be misleading and /or incorrect. That's me! Sorry if it offends because it's not meant to. And I will keep on disagreeing when I think it's appropriate and usually that disagreement will be backed up with a bit of research to indicate where my belief comes from. If you don't agree with me, fine, discussion is good for you (and me) but like everyone I guess, the occasional use of an inappropriate word like "stupid"is regretted.
