Anyone have experience and suggestions for growing mint? Hilltop in Valencia about 500 meters altitude. My reason for this interest is to possibly keep the legions of ants and other critters down to battalion strength or, hopefully, less. I understand peppermint is something they don't like, so maybe that species of mint plant will have some effect if planted around the foundations.
Should be no problem to grow mint in Valencia - but it spreads like wildfire, so better in a large container where the roots can't get out.
