    My first visit to Dumaguete was 1984. I spent a month and saw maybe one other white person. Back then everyone looked at you and said hey Joe. Not many outsiders made it this far south. I was a point of interest everywhere we went. People were friendly, just very curious. It probably helped that I am 6 foot 5 inch. Nowhere to hide in the crowd. Anyway, a very different experience back then.

    Watched this interesting little documentary on YouChube. Absolutely amazed me at how different Manila was then.
