Sad to hear of Big John's troubles and sure hope for a full recovery, I know you are very close to him. You might think about slipping him a spoon of sitver twice a day it saved my Rotty's life.

We have two small local dogs and we had them injected for Parvo when we got them as well as the other dogs and pups. I also try to not let them out of the yard to play with the local dogs, though one of our local dogs is sneaky and will dart out; the rest behave. The concern is that most folks do not immunize their dogs for anything, to include rabies which is an obvious concern with the health of our dogs.

I'm sorry to hear this Neil.
Do you mean that he had only the rabies vaccination and de worming but is not vaccinated for distemper?
His brother is doing fine but since reading this I keep a closer watch on him.
