Johan, some who can't adjust to reality think the grass is greener on the other side of the fence but those who are old timers to traveling do in Rome like Romans do and adjust and accept things as they are.

Last time we had lunch at Whynot but did not interact with other guests.
One gentleman uninvitedly remarked that it is a beautiful country gone to pieces because the stupidity and corruption of its inhabitants (or words to that effect).
I feel that as a foreigner it is probably best not to interact about local politics; we know (sort of) what to expect so to complain afterwards would not be wise...
