Event Best Posts in Thread: Unnecessary display of fireworks today

You're preaching to the choir! Shouldn't you be telling this to your neighbor?

 

If it isn't pure NOISE for just about anything or reason, then you're probably living in another country. It is ingrained in this culture, maybe that is why they talk so loud most of the time, they are hearing impaired from all of this.

Just when I thought that the crazy noise from fireworks everywhere mid last night is past and gone, early tonight, the 1st day of 2020, our neighborhood was in a sort of shock and surprise when a neighbor all of sudden started blowing fireworks that got us all scared.
Turns out that this neighbor is celebrating his birthday today and to jump-start their party, started it with an almost 5-minute non-stop explosion of fireworks that got us all on edge.

I just think it is unnecessary. You can have your party without that. Everyone knows you have money so you don't have to make a lot of noise about it. You will only stress everyone, including pets, when you try that hard. Fireworks are not necessary, in my own opinion.

 

We used to have a helper/working student from up in the 'bukid', in Siquijor, who never heard anyone speaking the first time, (in Visayan or English). I wondered if she was partially deaf. Went over there first in 1990, in the days when their pedicabs had no exhausts, something along the lines of getting up the hilly road sections better. No wonder the girl couldn't hear properly.

 

I have had 4 weeks of this and the noise continues, those noisy cannons. Last 16 years have been not so bad, this time it sounded like WW3 had started.

More fun in da fils. Can't wait till July when the barangay fest starts with giant speakers blasting out that noise crap.
