I buy parsley on regular basis in Robinson mall and Lee Plaza, then buy a few extra packets for the freezer, it works fine in a dish,not so good as topping on a salad when it comes from the freezer

 

Looks like Lazada or Shopee may be your best option if you can't find any locally. That was one thing that made life difficult for me there, was not being able to find spices and food items I needed to prepare certain dishes. I learned to buy them when I would visit the states and bring them back with me.

 

Well I finally visited Yan Yan as suggested here to buy the spices I was looking for but, alas, NONE of the spices I specifically mentioned in my original post were available there.

In fact, I saw no spices whatsoever for sale that I couldn't buy in the supermarkets here. The prices are certainly cheaper than the supermarket if one is prepared to buy in bigger quantities.

My opinion of Yan Yan is that it's great for baking, but rubbish for cooking almost anything else.

So, online it is.........

 

You can find a lot of good stuff in Yan Yan you can't find in other places in Dumaguete, special if you like to bake, good butter Danish and French, species and seeds, a huge selection of flavors, among a lot of other stuff, for sure a visit worth

 

Yes it is a Shop specialising in bakery and home cooking ingredients. Corner of Santa Rosa and Mabini Street.
