Pat you could teach her to turn that corn into bourbon. It might be more palatable.
Sugar is considered a spice in the Philippines.

I told my wife this morning that something cooking outside is burning. She told me my sister-in-law (helper) is burning corn to make corn coffee. I asked her how that tastes. She said it is bland but adding sugar makes it drinkable. Apparently in the mountains where they come from they don't have money for coffee but they do grow corn. So they improvise.

Family gave me some on a visit to their place. It smelled like corn bit didn't taste bad.
I wouldn't recomend for the morning, there is no caffeine.

I was recently informed there is also black rice coffee - but I have not seen it. Anyone here try it?
