Understood; going a bit heavy on tomatoes but really interested in figuring things out as we press forward.
Grapes are going to be a 2+ year to see how it plays out. If things work then we will go heavy, if not we didn't spend much over 3K to start out.
We started 60+ tobacco seeds today in trays; it is another thing I'm curious to try out. Neither of us are tobacco users, but the seeds are so small and need sunlight to germinate so a very interesting experiment.
Some things we've done OK, some things we've struggled. I'll post updates here and there.

Hello all...interested to hear if anyone in Negros has tried growing table grapes, positives or negatives.
We ordered 15 rooted cardinal cuttings and another 5 black ribier cuttings. We have an area set up for these; going to get the bamboo support posts in the ground tomorrow. The rooted cuttings have been transferred to larger pots under shade cloth in our seed starting area thinking they need 2 weeks or so until transplanted into the ground.
Been searching Mr. Google like crazy and have come to the plan that 1 part native clay soil to 1 part sand to 1 part vermicompost and 1 part rice hulls should be good for drainage and set the plants up going forward.
Looking at a 2'X2'X2' area to dig out for the amended soil for each cutting's eventual transplant. The cuttings will be 10' apart as I've read is recommended. Also, a good slope in the land so getting oversaturated during rainy season shouldn't be an issue.
Starting small to see how things go and definitely appreciate any advice/inputs.
Thanks!
