While we may be hopeful, being confident that peace will be achieved seems frivolous. There are too many people with extremist views on both sides to think that nobody will try to frustrate the process. Moreover since the current proposals do not contain a promise of recognition of the Palestine state by either Israel or the USA, I think the proposed path to peace will end at a very steep canyon back into aggression and more suffering.
