My girlfriend paid a visit to Bambulo today and got several pictures of the place. Her review of the place was very positive. She specifically commented on the cleanliness of the cr, the nice facilities (swimming pool, games, overall cleanliness), the chopsuey and pork sinigang were very good and the friendly service. She did have one negative: she didn't like the pizza. She said it was too crispy and the cheese didn't taste good, but this could just be personal preference. I will certainly give it a try when I return. I have never been myself but seeing the pictures and hearing her review it looks like a place I will be frequenting when I return. I will post more pictures in a second post.
I did have her ask for a receipt. Seems a fair price for the amount of food and drinks that her and her brother had. They weren't charged an entrance fee either. [DOUBLEPOST=1426664123,1426663962][/DOUBLEPOST] LOL I thought it was at first too. I'm pretty sure some family tagged along as well since it was on my dime. 500 pesos for an outing isn't bad in my books.
Strange opening hours? Weds to Sunday? Its a lovely place and i surprised it closed on monday and tuesdays as it has rooms? Hope the place can manage to stay open , i know the chap has worked his fingers to the bone to stay there, but i guess location is just not on his side..... but a lovely place to have a few beverages and a swim if feel the need.....
This might be because the owner has found that he has little/no business on those days and decided to just cut the expense of opening for those days. He also might still be in a soft opening with his new setup/crew. I don't find it that odd.
You have to realize that every pizza is customized.... no two are the same that comes out of the kitchen there .... Lol. Really I had some friends that always order the same pizza, one type (I think Barbecue chicken) and every time they ordered it, it came out a little different. A little conversation with the waitress may just get you exactly what you want... and then on other thought you are in the Philippines and may still get something differen every time.. The staff is very friendly, usually knowing your name by the second visit. I like that they NEVER SAY, "nice to see you Sir Dave...you have another new girl today" as had happened at other restaurants in town.
I didn't mean for my comment on the pizza to be a negative one. Like anything, we all have different preferences. If someone offered a pizza where they replaced the tomato sauce with Tabasco sauce my gf would eat there every day.....where I like just a couple drops of Tabasco on my pizza. That would p*ss me off and they could forget about receiving any tip from me. Creating drama2x for the sake of creating drama2x.....and you know they walked away smiling to themselves knowing what they had just done.
During Mondays and Tuesdays they've got staff on-duty to accommodate in-house guests. Till the temporary closing last November they were open every day. Guess the new opening hours are based on the fact that aside from work they just decided to make more time for their family. As a little side note; Bambulo provides for full free WiFi and a decent internet connection. That's certainly a plus being able to enjoy a stable connection.
Visited there today, yes lovely spot. Met owner whom was very friendly and very accommodating. Nice guy, the place is organized and super friendly staff. Unfortunately we had already eaten but enjoyed a nice drink, no entrance fee was charged. Apparently there are ex pats around whom think they can just hang out there for free, use the wi fi and facilities without paying....I fully understand why management charge a fee. We organized a return to spend the whole afternoon swimming eating, it's really a little oasis.
