Just back from Cebu, lots in the supermarkets there, here, not sure, don't remember seeing any recently in the usual places, Lees, Robinsons etc. If stuck, try old Mark Higgins in Octagon, he has some weird & wonderful stuff, failing that try Marcos' Why Not deli.
Might have better luck finding it if you ask for it using the proper word, "beets". Do you go around asking for carrotroots, turniproot or radishroots? Of course not, we all know which part of the plant you are eating.
Yes I do ... Duh! And if I asked for "beets" would I get beetroot or sugar beets or just get hit with sticks?
If you want sugar beets you ask for sugar beets. Nobody that speaks proper English (obviously that's the American kind) will be confused when you ask for beets.
