To help alleviate the stress of higher electric bills in April, Noreco II gives us a 9 hour brownout to start the month; A nine-hour brownout in the coverage areas of the Negros Oriental Electric Cooperative 2, on April 1, has been announced by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines while maintenance work is done of its Dumaguete-Siaton 69kV line. Elmer Cruz, corporate communications officer, said the shutdown will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Areas to be affected are Canday-ong, Pinili St., Colon Extension, Sta. Rosa Street, St. Louis Village, Locsin Street, of Feeder 7; and Lower Batinguel, San Jose Extension, Perdices St., San Jose St., Rizal Blvd. Area, San Juan St., Sta. Catalina St. and Taclobo, of Feeder 8, in Dumaguete City. Power outage will be from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. It will also affect Bagacay, Bajumpandan, Banilad, Cadawinonan, Calindagan, Cantil-e, Junob, Mangnao, Tabuctubig, Talay in Dumaguete City; Bong-ao and East Balabag in Valencia, and Banilad and Sacsac in Bacong; the Dauin substations 1 and 2, covering areas of Bacong and Dauin towns; and the Siaton substations 1 and 2, covering Zamboanguita, Siaton and parts of Sta.
