So what would you pay for a family-size salad made up of fresh lettuce from Salinas, tomatoes from Imperial Valley, artichoke hearts from Castroville, avocado from Fallbrook, onion from Merced, and a nice Chardonnay from Yountville to enjoy? Alternatively, just go to Shakey's here.

Thanks "PatO", I don't know any of the produce you mention but I sure think it would be a nice contrast to the stale taste of this Forum nowadays, it's barely alive at the moment...
By the way, I actually would prefer the mentioned vegetables to come from my own backyard in order to avoid the pollution that will happen by hauling them around in big semi trailers...

Simple Mind, the locations I mentioned are considered that particular vegetable capital of the world, such as Bordeaux is for red grapes. I don't eat nearly enough vegetables or salads here. Robinson's Market used to seasonally bring in some sweet red and yellow peppers from Baguio but haven't seen them the last two years.
I will try the garden salad at Nevas, their pizza is not bad.

Pat try the chicken parmesan too. It's one of my favorites there.

I enjoy Neva's salad, also. I think they have the best pizza in town (although, still not GREAT). Will have to give the chicken parmesan a try. I love the walnut salad from Sans Rival Bistro, too.

I am another "Fan" of Nevas, my favourite is the Vegetarian Pizza and the salad with Thai Vinegrette, as drink I usually get a Calamansi Juice without ice...

Ditto both of those, the veggie pizza and salad with the vinegrette......

It sounds very healthy. You won't live to 100 on it, but you'll feel as if you d*mn well have. :p
Cod 'n' chips 'n' mushy peas on Weymouth sea front, followed by a few jars of Dorset scrumpy in the Spotted Dog will do me fine.
