I do not trust speed test .net.
At time it will report 2+ Mbps download yet I can not even open my Yahoo mail.
Something fishy with that link. :(

I have the same problem. Mine will show 2Mbps down but I will be unable to load any websites. Maybe Globe prioritizes traffic to speed test sites?

Not sure but as I look at Speedtest.net it is only testing the speed to Manila and back not to the internet itself or whatever but to the Server in Makati. Also I do not think it tests HTML speed either. You can try theser sites: Speed Test - Free Internet Speed Test – HTML5, No App Needed or SpeedOf.Me, HTML5 Speed Test | Non Flash/Java Broadband Speed Test for HTML speeds.

On speedtest.net you can change the testing server. By default it automatically selects a server, probably the one which will give you the best result. Whatever result you get in Manila will likely be far worse than you get if you select even something as close as Hong Kong.

Unless I pick some server in Africa (or other off the wall location) the only thing that noticeably changes is the ping time. Manila and Idaho have almost identical up and down speeds....sometimes the US is a bit quicker.

My results are better for Manila than Hong Kong but the HTML5 speed is horrible it shows .32Mb dow.load and .92Mb upload. I would attach screenshots of same but unsure how to do it.
