Not sure if any Di members have ever tried to locate local maps for their GPS being a Garmin or navman like mine, I exhausted my searches on the web and on foot, so went out and purchased a CDR King unit, for p6k, it certainly is far from friendly as far as finding locations, mine you search a state eg. NSW or QLD then search city then street, the CDR King unit offers you some search fields but it’s hard, eg I looked up sancarlos and it went to manila where there were I think 4 listed but none on Negros island, actually San carlos is not on there in Negros, maybe the Mayor didn’t want to pay for the listing?
It works well if you can find your destination, or if you are already there you can log it as a POI or favourite, then track back to another destination or your home.

I use NavDroyd on my Android smartphone. Very accurate with turn by turn directions, current speed, POI, etc.

Yea few road signs also especially at night, I used it while going to San Carlos and found my accommodation very easily, I am not one who likes to get lost, I normally throw road maps out the window in frustration but the lovely lady in the GPS finds my way. hehe

I rarely use mine in Negros, unless for trip data, e.g. track recording, fuel usage, trip times, POI's marking etc, also sometimes if I'm heading to a destination I don't know in Bacolod. In cities like Cebu & Manila, they prove very useful, finding streets, individual buildings. If one only stays in Negros island, I agree they're probably not worth the money.
