With lazada's new shipping policy, that's actually $33. That may not break the bank, but I have a psychological issue with paying 10x what a product is worth. Also, ants do have some nutritional value!

It's the Valencia part that is costing more. Try having it shipped directly to an LBC office in Dumaguete and go pick it up.

They are likely basing their shipping rates off of the class of city/municipality or if there is an LBC location in the town.

Getting the thread away from Lazada's shipping costs and back to the ants...
Terro takes a day or two to be effective. Then the ants are gone for maybe a week until a new queen starts a new nest. Then it's back to square one waiting for the new workers to consume the Terro and feed the new queen.

If you see Terro on the shelf in Handyman, buy a lot because next time you are there....even if it is the next day...they will be out of stock for months.

Chalk is effective but you can't chalk everything...and the ants WILL find a way around it. But it can be entertaining to watch them figure it out. (Too much time on my hands?)

I have heard that peppermint oil works well to repel them. Maybe someone has experience with that.

You may just need to make an uneasy peace with them.
