Are there any members on this forum who are flying a drone just for fun. Would be great to hear as I would like to learn how and more about. You may reply by PM if you don't wish to post.

No need to explain I am not interested in military drones just the one for the fun factor. Thanks for the link and will have a look I can fly a drone after 3 minutes.

The biggest risk with learning to fly a drone is losing/damaging it in a built up area or among trees. I would suggest to go to a large open field to learn the basics, before trying to fly it in your street. Another suggestion might be to get a cheap one first until you know what you're doing.
My personal experience is limited, I found the quality of the batteries to be rather bad (swelling up after a few weeks without use), so maybe I bought too cheap lol.

    I don't know.
I watched that Video that John posted the link to and found it to be very interesting, what good fun this seems to be, unlikely that I would ever take this up having just too many irons in the fire right now, but can see this would make an interesting pastime for most people and also a great aid in Photography, I watched a second more advanced video on the subject from another guy he was also quite good and I'm quite amazed at what can be done with them, about the only problem I can envisage there in PH, if you happened to crash into any building of Sheeite CHB construction you would have something of a re-enactment of the 9/11 disaster, just make sure you get it all on Film.
