ACES Eye Referral Clinics A couple of my friends had cataracts done there and were very impressed. Doctors are from Cebu and well qualified.
There is an eye clinic at or near the Holy Child hospital I saw 2 different "Eye specialists" when I had a persistent eye infection. They never sorted it out prescribed the wrong antibiotics and the problem only got sorted when I went back to an Eye hospital in Australia. So I would avoid that place and maybe try some of the places in Cebu..
I've been to the ACES (that's the one near Hypermart?) and the one in Robinsons on the second floor (closest to Globe: you may have to ask the people standing in line to pay their Globe bill to make way). Just eye exams and purchasing some contact lenses for me. No complaints other than they usually don't have my prescription in stock and I have to run around all over Dumaguete to find a couple boxes. Of course, that wouldn't be an issue if I didn't wait until I only had one contact left (that was in my eye) and just a couple days away from that one falling out as well.
If you are wearing corrective lens, contact or glasses, I suggest you consider getting corrective lens installed when you get new cataract lens. I got my in the US about 7 years ago. They are great, eliminating my need for reading glasses, any glasses. I think the extra cost for corrective lens was about $5,000 apiece, the rest of he cost was covered by insurance. I think they do them in Cebu, and maybe ACEs does them if the doctors are from Cebu. I have seen costs posted here for between l and 2 thousand USD total?. Anyway it was much cheaper than in the US. Good luck on that... I have found that since I have the new corrective lens I am dating much more attractive ladies. If your eyesight is improved and you can see you will probably notice very appealing ladies in your eye sight, and even be able to differential between Afghanistan camels, and large woman in the area... if you can not see them, try smelling their breath... but not sure which would smell worst.
I visited doctor Flores for eye treatment. Got something in when grinding metal what he took out. Very professional also the desk lady. Good equipped, clean roomy waiting space. Surprisingly, when I arrived there at 8.15 am I expecting to have to come back later, but no, he was there. I walked out just before 9 (am) paid P550. You can call for an appointment. He keeps office in Siliman #421-0198 09278949602 (where I went and Holy Child eye clinic #420-2210 09325056736. Good luck
just got a quote from aces..about 85000p per eye (with phil health) and a trip to cebu for measurements
Do you know what type of lens they will provide? I was quoted about 135,000 pesos for a multi-focal lens at ACES near Hypermart. The clinic at Cebu Doctors offered the same (multi-focal) lens for 70,000 pesos. A simple lens mono-focal costs about 20,000 to 40,000 pesos in Cebu. Phil Health was considered in the prices I was given.
