Many of the other countries who "never broached [the idea of using face shields]" are still deep into the crisis and entering second waves. My guess is they would not be in such a parlous state had they made face masks (priority one) and face shields mandatory MONTHS ago. Not much evidence for NOT using them. BUT I accept, NOT much evidence for using them either - just science.

I wear glasses. They are open on several sides, just like a face shield. When I walk and the breeze comes up, it blows particles up under the lenses and into the eyes. Why wouldn't the same thing happen with other 'particles' when wearing a face shield?

So not 100%. Perhaps 50% is better than 0% and perhaps breeze inside enclosed spaces is not such a major problem. Again, though, depends where you are: Highly infected area - I would wear tight fitting goggles, face mask and face shield. Very lightly infected area - I would wear face mask and wide sunglasses (if sunny climate).
Not seen anywhere requiring them as yet. There are conflicting reports about, some saying now mandatory and others saying that the NIATF are still considering. Hahahahahahahahaha. You can buy in Lee Hypermart and there are several vendors along the main street between Lee Plaza and the cathedral. Some have come up with the snazzy idea of sticking a pair of cheap sunglasses to a piece of perspex, if you want to look particularly cool.
thanks... i just made a shield by taping a very clear produce bag to the bill of a baseball cap. couple that with nmrn's Business idea - sell the shields to look like known celebs (20% please for the idea). it's more fun in the fils...
