I used the search function today, and was able to find the post/threads I was looking for immediately. Over the past three years I have seldom if ever found anything with the search engine part of the forum, usually just trying to remember who posted and then searching down their posts. . It is great to see a well functioning forum software in place.
How about a forum titled 'How do I say this in visayan? Learning the language is frustrating due to so many people giving many answers for the same words or phrases. Communicating in broken English works most of the time, I want to communicate in broken Visayan. Or how about a title of Visayan words and phrases?
Agreed, we used to have a Visayan section on the old Board but as always, Who would Moderate. It surely would need good moderation. Maybe just a section labelled "What does this mean" and as you said "How do I say that" again it would need some management and do we have anyone on the membership that could Do this with a Degree of Success ? for it to work, it would have to be so very right but it certainly could be a beneficial addition in a lot of cases. With Dustin being away working and with all the others he has to contend with ( Like us that sometimes don't Post right even in English o_O) I honestly can't see it happening any time soo but non the less a good thought patty JP
Moderating is not a problem, I know when someone is talking smack in Bisaya. Brain is not working this morning. I think such a section would best go under the Pinoy section (perhaps it would draw more attention from those who speak the language). I need to wake up a bit more.
Bisaya (Visayan/Cebuano/Binisaya) phrases and translation websites are all over the internet. You can also go to National Bookstore and buy a book on the subject if you are that interested in learning the basics. If someone would like a section added to the forum with this information please feel free to do the research for the initial content and post it to a thread and I will throw up a forum and we can go from there. I won't throw up another forum on the site that contains no content, it just looks bad to have a section with absolutely no/or little content (and I have other things I need to get done on the site so I don't have time to take on a side project). I need at least 20 quality threads on Bisaya before I will create a forum for it.
