Thursday pics Should have my remaining EVG panels on site tomorrow...know I've said that before, but think it will actually happen this time. Was pleased that the plastering (rendering) stuck well and it did not seem to be an issue at all. I did not realize that they were going a bit thicker on the plaster so I will need to take that in account on the electrical boxes going forward...or get some really long screws. We got quite a bit of backfill done, but had to replace a belt on the compactor today. Still happy with the progress and got to do a little bit of work myself. Shawn
Pics from the last couple of days The EVG panels were delivered on Friday afternoon so the guys have been messing with them for the past 2 days (almost a full crew today). We are having them put the rebar between the Styrofoam and mesh, so it is proving to be more time consuming. The reason for this is to not have to use so much cement and sand for the rendering. I still think it is a great system and even with the guys struggling a bit the past couple days it is still much faster than block. I was not able to rough in any electrical today as the guys were in the way (and using my ladder and some tools), but should be able to do some electric rough in tomorrow. We've only been using 2 guys to work on the beams and columns for the second floor, but think we will be ready to place concrete Wednesday. Going to do the beams and columns in one placement so it should take our full crew the entire day to make it happen. Shawn
I was just thinking that our dog doesn't seem to stop growing...actually camera angle really makes things look off. We both try to take a bunch of pics each day but with a phone or digital camera it is a hard to see what is good (or not terrible) until you get them on the computer and resize so they can be posted. 2" for the drains and 4" for the toilets, the stack vent is 3" though. The plumber changed it from 4" to 3" due to the overhangs and getting the pipe in. Should not be a problem with the height and we don't have all that much plumbing. Shawn Shawn
Productive day Got quite a bit of work done today with the electrical rough in, EVG panels and even a bit of back fill. Really hot day and my plan is for a shower and a few cold ones. Shawn
Tuesday pics Sorry for the quality of the photos, forgot to bring the camera today so had to take some quick pics when the sun was going down. The EVG panels will be all installed for the first floor tomorrow, there is still quite a bit of reinforcement bars to install. I'll talk with our head mason/foreman tomorrow as there are a couple walls they can get back to plastering. Looks like it will be a couple more days until we are ready to place concrete for the 2nd floor beams and columns, one worker did not show up yesterday. Not a big deal at the moment as my priority is the EVG panels and rough in. Shawn
Another productive day We really got a lot of solid work accomplished today; I was very pleased with the progress. Looks like the beams and columns will be ready for concrete on Friday. Shawn
