    I'm not sure if this is appropriate to ask. To the moderators, if it isn't, feel free to delete.

    hello Group,

    I've decided the area in or around Dumaguete (within 1 hour) is the place I want to be when I move there in February. I am looking for a house to rent, preferably 3 or 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, hot and cold shower and at least partially airconed, with a decent yard and quiet neighborhood. Walled and gated community is OK, but not required. I would also like semi furnished if possible. I hope to rent the first of January so I can begin sending balikbayan boxes by then. Rent with option to buy or long term lease is also a possibility.

    If anyone knows of anything, I would be grateful for phone numbers or contact information. I will not offer a rental range here, as that is open for discussion considering the property.

    dustylane53, welcome on this forum.
    I know a countryman of yours who has units to rent near his house in Dauin, at the beach and only 17 Km south from Dumaguete.
    He (DAGNY) is also a forum member, so you can send a PM to him for information.

    Jellyfish, Thanks for the referral. Our vacant beachfront unit is only a 2br/1.5 bath so it doesn't sound appropriate for dustylane53. Since it sounds like he wants to lease a place from afar, perhaps Islandsproperties would be the best bet. Unless someone else here has a solid referral.

    Thanks Jellyfish and Dagny. Yes, I am aware of islandsproperties. However, friends advise me that they have very elevated prices. I would rather do business with individuals. Yes, I am trying to find a place from here in the US, however, I have friends who will check out anything I am interested in. They know what I want and will help me find the right place. I am just hoping to find referrals here to lessen their waste of time.
