I have an older IBM A31 thinkpad that needs a new motherboard...any help ?? thanks Miguel

IBM sold their PC business to Lenovo. Octagon here (2 stores) carry new Lenovo pc's, maybe they can help you find one.

Pat,today I surgically removed the motherboard and will go to Octagon tomarro.. Is there a special IBM "guru"that I should see?? Miguel

 

sntmig, I am sure Octagon does not have an IBM PC expert. Perhaps you can ask them if they can get you a Lenovo board that will work or where you could get one. If you have any friends in the Manila area, Market Market has lots of computer stores or Cebu Ayala mall, if no luck here.

and also I personally suggest to find an IBM expert. There is an IBM service center in Dumaguete btw. Go to Youdels and look for Alex. He's the tech expert there. If he ask who's asking, tell him that kokong is reffering.

As you see ...motherboards are available,but most in USA.. I dont have the "time or expetice to find...we see what Edward finds..
I am only wanting to fix it so I can help out a needy amig/amiga
