Ok Im just wondering what everyone is getting for speed around Dumaguete area. To get a decent idea maybe some of you will participate in a ping test and write your results. A ping test we can use is located at this URL : ie click it Speedtest.net by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test From Banilad Bacong thru Smart MyBro : Ping 703ms DL speed 0.11Mbps UP speed 0.05Mbps this is a consistant *for crap* rate Ive had since I have returned in mid July. And of course locked into a 2 year contract with another year to go. I know a lot of ya have problems with Globe. Just showing what Smart will give ya. Having lived in 4 locations in 3 towns in 5 plus years the other two towns I could avail of DSL through PLDT and it was the best I could get ...Im just too far out ..at least 100 meters outside the city line !!
This was just after reformatting my laptop. 5 years of clutter must have been slowing it down as it was not this good before. This is the speed I get from MyBro on a Monday afternoon. It gets much slower on evenings and weekends. Edit: That test was made using Google Chrome. On the site there was an ad to download Maxthon browser and try again for a faster browsing exerience. Don't bother. I did it and here is the result from my Maxthon browser:
Speedtest.net is not really giving anyone a accurate reading also as most of us are using sites outside the country, prob better to check speeds from the u.s or the eu!
hi Hi I pay for 3mb globe 1600 a month with land line phone, it always pings 245 t0 260 im happy with that but if I down load to much it goes slow until 6am the next day , they say I have used more than the 7mb they allow
Alex. If you are DSL Internet that is crap about you using 7mb, the stats are reset every 24 hrs. We had 3mb before and now on 5 mb inc phone and it's p 1,599 month! We checked very carefully before upgrading there were no download limits.
While we do all dl from different parts of the world..our speed to the same site produces the data to compare
