seems like my 4 years running into their office and yelling at everybody who comes my way pays out. :D
works even better in combination with cutting some neighbors connections at night.

Honestly, I have no idea why i am "blessed" since a few days, but I think I just deserve. My still my "regular" speed before was still quite higher than yours

Yeah, it is not often that the upload rates gets close to the download rate. Great if you are running a web server.

What package are you on, do we get a choice. I understood that Globe only had one DSL package and that was it ..

I could tell you, but than I have to shoot you ....

I have the whatever-is-the-normal-package at globe.

Sky Cable is not available here, but seeing that they also cap or even stop service after a certain data quota is reached, I will not touch them.
I will hit PLDT up. Hope they service already here. It is past Camella. Basicly the end of the world :D

One thing I dont see people mention here is *where* in dumaguete matters as to what service you can get. For instance, I live up in Cantil-E (very near Valencia), and I cant get any of the "big names" for service.

I used to live up in Batangas City, where PLDT was readily available, and the reliability was awesome, but I cant get that where i live now. If memory serves, I had a 4MBit connection (asymmetric) for like 4K/month.

Also, speed is not the only measurement that matters. A really fast connection that is down for hours (days? :-)) at a time doesnt mean much. For me, reliability is much more important than raw speed.

My personal opinion is 1Mbit is the current "sweet spot" of price versus speed.

Lastly, I also had a Globe connection in Batangas, and it sucked. Reliabilty was horrible, but your mileage may vary...

I have Globe internet installed in Bacong, the last install up the hill in my semi-remote area, and absolutely no problems and acceptable consistent response.

I would also ask for some comments about the electrical service as I probably will spend quite a bit of time on the net if live there. Reponses from surrounding areas are encouraged as I have no idea where I might like to live around Duma. Anyone? I especially request a response from Rhoody as I suspect he is on the net for hours for extended periods.
    thx, Tony
