I found this light at Unitop, it is a 15 Watt LED plastic Bulb made by VGL and has a built-in Battery which when screwed into the socket and turned on, allows it to switch automatically to an Emergency light during a Black-out, it also comes with a screw on cap with a hook that allows you to remove it from the socket and move to another room should you need portable light, or even use like a Torch/Flashlight, obviously it charges when connected to electricity, it throws a very bright light and I plan on buying more to fit outside so during Black-outs we still have the security of external lighting that switches on in a nanosecond! Cost was 280php which I thought was reasonable. My thoughts are that others here may find them suitable for external/internal security/emergency/ convenient lighting.
When we built our new place here in Valencia last year the regs required we install emergency lighting. We have the Omni units pictured below. They also charge full time and come on when there is a brownout. They have been excellent to date, will run about 6 hrs if both lights are on - longer if only one is switched on. Cost around 1,100 pesos in the local hardware stores. They can also be unhooked and placed where needed though we leave ours permanently fitted to the wall in the living room and kitchen.
We have an Akari unit like yours fitted into the kitchen where we can slide it off of the screws to move it around, but the battery gave up the ghost just over a year from purchase. I managed to buy a name brand battery from the lil shop down the road on the same side of McDonald's (diagonally opposite Lee Plaza) that gives much longer lighting than the original, so anyone who has one of these it is a simple job to replace the old battery. We bought ours from Robinson's for a tad over 1600php from memory. I just like these new type LED Bulbs for their ability to give instant outside lighting in the case of a Black-out adding that extra bit of security we all worry about when we are thrown into pitch black darkness.
Reminds me of a joke. After mounting the bulb there was no light. Caller: "The bulb I bought from you is not burning after I turned the light on!" Support: "Can you switch the light off please?" Caller: "Wow it burns now!"
I went back to Unitop to buy more of the Rechargable Emergency LED Bulbs but "Sorry not in stock Sir"... I have spoken to a few guys about these bulbs also after telling them where I bought mine, but with no idea when new stocks will arrive, I went looking online and found a load on Lazada!
