    I don't know if the equipment and yeast is available locally, but if you try this then sterlising everything is essential or you might end up with one gallon of acetic acid (vinegar) instead.

    I now make my own Bailey's (thanks to @DAVE1952) and will never buy any again. Under 5 minutes to make a litre and about P250. The internet is full of recipes for various types of booze (I quote this only if the process is legal within the country where you make it).

    Correct: "Mead is an alcoholic beverage created by fermenting honey with water, sometimes with various fruits, spices, grains, or hops. "

    So the honey (sugar) is fermented by the yeast (fungus) to produce alcohol. The alcohol (ethanol) can be converted by acetobacter (bacteria) into acetic acid (vinegar) if poor sterlisation permits bacteria into the mix (or if the fruit fly gains entry as the fruit fly contains acetobacter in its poop).
