I stand corrected. The $1M I was told is the total investment. That is a lot of coffee to sell!

well, you posted the franchise is 1 Million (which is simply bola bola), now you are told the investment is one million which is something totally different ! and of course, all business men worldwide run to their customers and tells them the numbers what they do and invest for holding up the fellowship O-| .

...maybe some should not listen to much to the golden "archbishop" and BS he and his cardinals talk there, but of course, what is said in the archdiocese, read from the book of truth, must be believed, isn't it ? works since 2000 years or so...

"For franchise licensing rights to a standard new McDonalds, the company charges its standard $45,000 initial fee.
If the franchise is for a McDonalds located in a gas station or convenience store (called a McDonalds STO), the franchise fee is reduced to $22,500.

There are also McDonalds franchises located in retail stores, like Walmart as well as in hospitals, universities, airports, etc. These are called Satellites. For Satellites, the McDonalds franchise fee ranges from $0 to $500.

The other cost categories associated with establishing a new McDonalds franchise include real estate, signage, seats, equipment an decor, opening inventory, training and working capital. These are broken out individually in Item 7 of the McDonalds FDD.

For a Satellite McDonalds, the total is $172,425 to $627,050. For a McDonalds located at a gas station or convenience store, the total is $837,750 to $1.2 million. And the standard, new McDonalds restaurant clocks in with an investment total of $1 million to $1.9 million. Each of these include substantial amounts for working capital.

So, a new McDonalds franchise, depending on the model selected, can range from a low of $172,425 to a high of $1.9 million.

Per McDonalds, the factors impacting new restaurant costs are: size of the McDonalds restaurant facility, area of the country, pre-opening expenses, inventory, selection of kitchen equipment, signage, style of decor and landscaping.

A detailed breakdown of the initial investment costs into different categories (including a working capital component) for each of the three McDonalds franchise models is provided in Item 7 of the 386-Page McDonalds FDD Franchise Disclosure Document for 2011 to 2012."

Steve you are wrong, thats the FDD for US you are talking about and has nothing to do with international Franchise or in that case the Philippines... google again and read before making irrelevant copy/paste from a business web-site which sole purpose is to earn money with downloadable pdf about franchising ... (btw, the FDD can be downloaded without payment)

Of course.... we had sooo many someones who really know here... I think we have 2 SM-Cities and 3 robinsons (one of them still with a McDo) here. and we have even more who believe all which is told to them blind-folded if it is told by someone who really knows for certain.

BTW, there is certainly also a McCafe planned in the new location (not sure about their refill-policy though). at least this were the plans end Feb 2012, so "new" planned McDo was well known before this thread

I don't doubt that the investment is high, certainly not for franchise in the PI (to find the FDD is no rocket-science).

Of course I wish each business here all the best, no matter what it is

It's fact, not gossip. From within the McD organization

But don't let the facts get in your way?

well, I have the FDD 2011 about McDo in the PI (also the US one) as well as some other fast food-franchise FDDs.
yes, I won't get local bola into the way of the black on white facts written in the McDonalds coorporations FDD.
