Cathay Pacific will be 400 to 500 $ more expensive than Air China or Eva Air.

I've flown Cathay Pacific, Asiana, EVA, and a one way back to LAX on Continental. All good choices at the time. I will NEVER fly China Airlines or Philippine Airlines. The above airlines have always been on time and allowed me to catch my connecting flight from Manila to Dumaguete on Cebu Pacific. The only pains are that CP is ALWAYS late for their afternoon flights and their baggage fees turn a good deal into an expensive hassle.

filmguy: I retire next year, so on this trip we will check out Dumaguete again. It has changed alot in the last 5-6 years. We have to look at rentals, lots, houses, traffic, everything...McDonalds is new and ALOT of new hotels and restaraunts...I was planning on buying property/house in Valencia, but after the recent typhoon I don't know. Anyway, I am sure I will meet alot of you when I am there, and I want to say "salamat" to Rhoody for this forum and all the valuable information obtained here...

Try using Kayak or Vayama. I almost never book direct with the airlines anymore. These sites hit many airlines and dates simultaneously. I was just checking the other day and had flights to LAX and JFK @900 usd.
