    Yep, I use the elevator, or lift in my language. I agree about the disorientating effect of walking on static escalators but it only lasts for the first couple of steps.

    Im curious why they cant even put a toilet seat on the commodes in the mens bathrooms??

    Same reason I didn't have one on my toilet for well over a year: I'm lazy and the replacement seats you find in the Philippines only last a couple months before they crack and/or fall off the toilet, so what's the point? (and they would only last maybe only a week on a toilet in the mall).

    The main problem with trying to walk up or down the escalators is that they are in the Philippines and therefore clogged with slow moving filipinos, i am often tempted to shout FIRE to see if it would step up the pace.
    I would bet that most of the escalators are not in service due to them not having a squirt of oil or grease in the works since installation.
