Without having any previous visits here to be able to think clearly what to bring (and not knowing if soon I may return to my home country), I arrived with items such as fan heaters (but with cooling function), jackets suitable for the UK climate and too many small items of crockery, glasses, tools, etc - (plus, of course, my wife's collection of clothes, handbags and shoes!) -things I wish to get rid of now but think mostly are too trivial to list separately in classifieds. Has anyone had experience of selling items like this locally (successful or not)? In the UK it would be a car boot sale (and yard sale in the US?) Is there anything similar here? And would advertising a 'garage sale' be unwise as it may bring people with mixed intentions to my home?

Also I bought some thick blankets and jackets etc from Oz suited to below zero nights, I have to say I have used them a few times here when the nights have got a lil too cool for my liking! I would not dispose of everything, make sure you keep a few things for those odd times
