as per 10 nov, found nothing at those, but, YES, found a dusty bottle of Sherry at the Times Merc near the BOI Alley..... Found vermouth at Rob Super market......
What does she use for: 1) the sponge part (I wondered about chiffon cake); 2) The cream topping - I have not seen whipping cream here (there is aerosol based cream but it collapses - at least in does on my hot choc drink). Thanks for any advice as since you mentioned sherry trifle I have not been able to sleep!
Found WHIPPING CREAM / Heavy Cream. Robinsons now carries it at da Mall.... Found it in large (1 ltr.) about 4 months ago, found the little 200 ml size a month ago, perfect for sherry trifle or potatoes au gratin, the gruyere at Belcris.. also carrying REAL local milk, Norient Brand, but only 3 days a week, probably not enuf production (or demand) to provide every day, same cooler as the whippin cream... And found Sherry at Times Mercantile just up from Immigration on Locsin.
You can buy what we call champagne fingers in Brazil (not sure of the English name but I think they're called ladyfingers) in that biscuit and pasalubong shop a couple of doors down from Sans Rival in Robinsons, as you head towards National Bookstore. they also sell them in the supermarket itself, but in very large tins.
