I am sure the python was about 2 ft across the back and about 1" high and had numerus tire tracks imprinted in it's skin...

Grew up in Dumaguete in the late 80's and I remember a day while headed to Silliman of a very large python being pulled out of a storm/sewage drain by a couple of men. That was early morning; going back home during the mid day break, they had the skin stretched out drying and a BBQ going.

On an island in the northern Visayas I saw a 5-6 foot Philippine cobra with a chunky black body and bright yellow head that was headed across a driveway toward a neighbor's house. I lost it in the vegetation but found my neighbor at his doorstep hanging garlic above the entrance. He said a Shape Shifter had been spotted on a nearby roof and was protecting the family inside. I mentioned the cobra 20 meters away and his reply was "don't step on him."

For what its worth, was guided casually, by a local, through the jungle, from Valencia through the National Park, to Twin Lakes, (the "back-way" in). When asked, he stated there were no snakes there. Didn't stop me from walking with a heavy foot though...

Large pythons have been known to be washed down from the hills, during floods.

So who do we call if we have a snake problem in Dumaguete? Do the local pest control companies here deal with snakes?

I'd imagine your next door neighbor, if a local. Failing that, I'd ask any in-laws or 'outlaws' you may have (if married/in relationship), as the lure of possible BBQ meat may prove irresistible. Think local pest control usually deal with non-vertebrae 'items'.
