Well, thanks for all your input............I think. The only real reason I am considering going solar is that the the guy who owns the road upon which I need to install two 2" steel poles to support Noreco's wires has pretty much blocked me from forever doing that. The house I built has no air cons at all. We do have three 3.5 kw water heaters in the CR's, and a 3.5 kw electric oven, which probably won't be used even once a month since we're not big on baking. It's my belief that these four heavy demand appliances really won't be a problem because they are used only briefly once a day, or less. I'm also considering a larger generator but can't get any of the big suppliers to reply to my requests for info. Why do so many companies provide "contact" avenues on their web sites but NEVER reply?
George, there is a company going north on the national highway before the mall on the west side, behind a gate, that refurbishes and resells large surplus generators. Been a while since I have been there.
Stop doing that. It is a waste of time in the Philippines. It is just the way it is and it isn't going to change in any of our lifetimes. Go to the store and inquire in person if you want to preserve your sanity.
You might want to consider a small 1 cylinder diesel engine spinning an alternator that charges the batteries of your solar system. Assuming you put together a solar system with batteries and an inverter. This will cost much less to buy and operate than a larger generator and will get you through the rainy days.
