Although simple swollen feet come to all of us sometimes, most of the posts seem to describe edema, which I am well familiar with. It is fluid build up to due to poor circulation in your feet and legs. The best way to combat chronic edema is exercise, even just walking. On a long flight it helps tremendously to work your calf muscles by pointing you feet up and down rapidly for a few minutes. Better is to stand and do "toe stands" on the balls of you feet, up and down rapidly. This works your calves the best and alleviates the swelling or at least helps it. The local home remedies, they call it "beri beri" are to sit on the beach just at the water's edge and bury your feet in the sand at least ankle deep. The leaves you refer to, I believe, are Guyabano leaves. The tree is very common in the Philippines. If you take a 5 or 6 leaves and boil them in 2 cups of water and boil down to 1 cup and drink it, it is supposed to help edema. It helps mine as does the sea water and sand. The exercise does the most good. Hope this helps. It is only my own experience. My edema for some reason is always worse in the US. It has to be diet and exercise, that's the only variable.
P.S. I guess you could wrap you feet in the Guyabano leaves but I've never tried it.

That can work but it would also pay to visit your Dr and establish the exact cause to ensure correct treatment.

My feet swell with the heat now so my gym/walking shoes felt too small and tight. My problem is my shoe size is 10 1/2. Big problem here, no half sizes in town. So I have been squeezing into a size 10 as size 11 too big. Can't squeeze any longer so I bought a pair of size 11. Seemed easier to walk today so will alternate the big and the small when the swelling goes down.
Not the biggest problem I have but food for thought for those moving here.

Anyone with swollen feet (or swellings elsewhere.... except one place for males*) should consult a GP as there can be underlying causes. Best to check it out the first time. Also, if only ONE foot or leg swells then check it out URGENTLY as it could be deep vein thrombosis (DVT) which could be fatal. DVT is, as most know, a risk during long flights and compression socks and exercise during the flight are advisable. [* If any man finds a swelling in this part then please consult a woman if available].

I try same a few years ago, my feet swallow up, to more than double size, not possible to wear any kind of shoes/sandals. A friend visit me, when he saw my feet, he said, that called elephant feet, he went to pharmacy and bought some diuretic, get water out of body. After 3-4 days my feet was normal, and it never came back
