I'm needing tires for my SUV. Getting all mixed up because even the branded tires seem to be made in China, Philippines, Malaysia or other countries. Therefore I don't know who to trust. Anyone have good experience with specific brands and where to buy would like to hear from you.

I worked out a good deal with Caloocan Sales in Manila, price including shipping to Duma, worked out better than purchasing in Duma. They usually have a good range of European etc., tyres. When I received the tyres, it was no problem getting them fitted at a good price. Try this email contact: bikepark851@yahoo.com - guys name is Philip ANG. Or just enquire on their website

Tyres are made here also,, just as good as any in the world if you ask me,, they are carrying good year, bridgestone, , there is a tyre factory in Clark yokohoma (spelling?) they are bloody expensive when you are moving up size to fit a truck,, i paid 7000 per bridgestone tyre 4 years ago,, i had a pajero,, if i had a smaller car the cost would of been less then half....

i wouldnt be worrying about locally produced tyres as long as they are carrying a good brand name

Would you not run into the same problem if shopping for tires in the US? Manufacturing has largely been sent overseas for the cheap labor (even though they do not lower the price to reflect the savings in labor). You don't find too many things made in the USA in the USA. I always get a good laugh from people thinking they buy Ford, Chevy and Dodge because they are American made......when in fact the cars that employee the most Americans are foreign owned corporations. (Last time I checked Toyota employed the most American factory workers.)

None of the 3 replies I have gotten so far has addreessed my question. What I was asking is this: What brand have you bought here for your truck or SUV? What is you opinion of the tire? And, where did you buy them?

I'm not trying to be disrespectful to anyone, just trying to get reasonable INFO.

Yes, you are correct. That's why I am so confused. I found Goodyear at 10,000 each, made in China. I found Cooper at 9,000 each made in the Philippines, and a China brand with the same ratings at less than 6,000. Actually better looking than the other 2. I tried at Roberts, who has several different brands that I've never used, but they seem too busy eating and scratching their butts to wait on people. That's why I am confused. Also, I agree with you about cars made in US.

I put a set of Goodyear tires on a Ford Ranger 3 years ago - from the tire dealers just down the road (town side) from Citi Hardware.
I ran that pickup for 2 years and the tires were still 80 - 90% good when I sold it.
I can't remember the name of the place but they have a big modern workshop with a large forecourt.
