I have a LOT of beef steak type tomato seeds. I'd be happy to share them with anyone who is willing to come to Valencia to get them and listen to a five minute lecture on why it is so hard to grow them here. George 0919 875 6015

    George,
I have tried growing them beef steak type tomato. I got very poor results. The yield was very small. The tomato were not any bigger than a gulf ball. I still have seeds but I do not think I will wast my time poking them in the ground.
I did have good success at citrus trees. I have 13 of then about 3 to 5 foot tall and ready to go to a good home.

Well, you can pay me if you want. But you can get them for free, too.

I have a new batch of beefsteak seedlings if anyone wants a few. My current crop of maturing plants is doing very well. No signs of disease (yet). Starting to blossom. After many years of struggling to learn how to do it in this environment, I think I may finally understand what needs to be done. The next few months will be critical. If I get a bunch of fruit, then I'll know I've found tomato nervana!!

Have you found blight to be your biggest problem here?

I'm getting ready to try my thumb at growing some tomatoes using raised garden beds with seeds I got from Lazada. Any chance you would consider writing here a summary of your lecture? I would love to see a list of the problems you have encountered and solutions that you have found?
