One other thing to mention about enjoying food here has nothing whatsoever to do with restaurants.
I was lucky to find my partner, who (besides many other qualities) has a keen interest in cooking. She took a 4 months course at DACA 4 years ago to improve on her techniques and know how, and I couldn't be happier. Best investment I made here lol.

I also call it Mama Mia (Dutchie!), but it's really Cafe Mamia downtown, and good...
Big portions, try Casablanca... Mifune good, Tinto had good NZ steak (been awhile)....
Great food= Adamo; Si Senor (at Henry Hotel); Aquarius (Dauin, Thai mostly). Cana (at Bricks hotel) is consistently good, and never out of stock of anything on the menu...
Lookin fwd to Jan's new place, want to try Lokal.. Anybody done the new grill house on the Valencia-Duma road ??? Probably forgot a few... Salaya good, expensive, for steak call ahead....

Adamo has a quite small menu but what they do is really great.

La Mensa in Piapi (behind cafe racer) has recently opened and looks promising. Not been there yet. Only open Wednesday through Sunday 6pm to 10 I believe.

Also, Esturya on Hibbard avenue. Good pizza and pasta as well as modern Filipino dishes from the menu of the former Kri.

Forgot about that one. I've ate there a couple times and wasn't disappointed.

This one as well. The owner (I'm assuming) has been there every time I've been and is willing to alter menu items to suit a higher protein diet.

I've also been ordering Gabby's from Grab a lot recently. Tastes decent and travels well.

Been there last night, was not disappointed. We had two starters and shared a 500g Rib Eye, everything was very good. Certainly going back to try out the Pizza and Pasta which looked really good as well.

We tried Adamo only recently as i never knew it existed until reading about it here, very good food, service and value for money.
Only one small thing was that the tiramisu was nothing like real tiramisu but hey we are a long way from Italy.

I prefer their tiramisu (if it is the same as they have been doing a few years now) as it is crisp and not based on sogginess. But then one man's potato is another man's tomato.

And a american tiramisu is not an italian man's tiramisu.
